Which Members of the Body Must be Controlled for Obedience?

Jesus singled out the hand and eye of the body that need to obey God’s will.Matt. 5:29-30 describes how important it is to obey with the eye and hand. How did Jesus Demonstrate Obedience?

  1. He obeyed God-He did the will of the Father. John 5:30 I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.

How to Develop Obedience? vs. Willfulness


What is obedience? Receiving instruction, correction, provision, and protection through the Biblical jurisdiction of parents, civil authorities, church leaders, and employers or educators.

  • What does obedience mean? Obedience is wise submission to the will of those whom God has placed over us.
  • True obedience is an attitude rather than an action.
  • It does not require us to violate the higher law of God.
