DEACONS

The Church that Jesus started during his personal ministry on earth has two officers. The officers of the Lord’s Church are Pastors and Deacons. The Bible makes reference to pastors as bishops or elders. This article deals with deacons. Deacons are to be servants of the Church and not rulers of the Church; however, Deacons are to be be leaders. Without leadership in any organization, whether in a church, club or athletic program, we usually find chaos. Deacons are first mentioned in Acts 6:1-6.

How did Jesus Demonstrate Obedience?

1. He obeyed God-He did the will of the Father. John 5:30 I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.
2. He obeyed His parents. At age 12 He wanted to continue in the temple, but He obeyed His parent. Luke 2:51,52 And he went down with them, and came to Nazareth, and was subject unto them: but his mother kept all these sayings in her heart.

CHRIST IN THE NEW

The Old Testament is the New Testament concealed and the New Testament is the Old Testament revealed.
